Robotics is a high-tech field that combines Software + Hardware + Systems to solve problems automatically using smart machines.

In this 12-week online certification, you'll learn and apply the fundamentals of "full-stack" robotics by building a technical project portfolio across coding, electronics, and manufacturing to prepare for a high-tech career at Fortune 500 companies.

Self-Study Modules + Technical Portfolio

This program comprises 6 training programs designed to help you gain applied robotics skills across coding, electronics, mechanics, design, and manufacturing so that you can demonstrate technical experience to employers for high-tech career opportunities.

Training 1: 5-Day Crash Course

Launch into Robotics (as a beginner)! The first 5 days of your enrollment is focused on uncovering robotics career opportunities and completing daily tech challenges across coding, systems, and applications in robotics.

Training 2: Coding Mastery

Robots speak the language of "code" or computer programs. In this training you will learn how to write embedded programs using C/C++ and make decisions from real-time sensor data. You'll also gain the fundamentals of prototyping and electronics by creating a project with ties to Agriculture.

Training 3: Robotics Mastery

Leveraging your programming skills from Training 2, we'll take things a step further in coding mastery to develop an autonomous vehicle. You'll learn principles of motor control, how to integrate batteries into mobile robots and design a custom sensor to solve a simulated "Mission to Mars."

Training 4: 3D Modeling Mastery

Part of being proficient in robotics is leveraging 3D printers and CAD models for "rapid prototyping." In this training, you'll design an Industrial Robot Arm in 3D CAD using Fusion 360. Then, you'll learn about material selection and best practices in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) to 3D print your design using any 3D printer.

Training 5: PLC Programming Mastery

In manufacturing plants, automated equipment is controlled by Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). To set you up for success working in controls, you'll learn how to write Ladder Logic Programs and test them in simulation for various factory and real-world manufacturing applications.

Training 6: Laser Cutting Mastery

Understanding 2D design and how to use a laser cutter is another skillset that will set you apart in the engineering job market. This training will walk you through the process of designing a part in 2D CAD, selecting the right materials, and the process of manufacturing the part with a laser cutter.

Are there any prerequisites for this program?

This is a BEGINNER level training, taught in English for professionals 18+. No experience required. We recommend basic computer skills such as typing to be successful with our training.

What is the typical class profile?

More than 80% our learners in this program are BRAND-NEW to coding, electronics, and robotics and are current working professionals or full-time students. Generally, our online professional trainings draw a highly diverse audience in terms of professional experience, industry, and background — leading to a very rich peer learning and networking experience.

  • Attending office hours, as per the specific program schedule

  • Reading or engaging with examples of core topics

  • Completing knowledge checks/quizzes and required activities

  • Building working prototypes to solve applications related to the training modules

The program is designed to be highly interactive while also allowing time for self-reflection and to demonstrate an understanding of the core topics through various active learning exercises.

Certification + Portfolio

What are the requirements to earn the certificate?

Each program includes an estimated learner effort per week, so you can gauge what will be required before you enroll. This is referenced at the top of the program landing page under the Duration section. All programs are designed to fit into your working life.


This program is scored on a scale of 0-100%; participants must complete the required activities, projects, and assessments to pass and obtain the certificate of completion. Some programs include a final project submission or other assignments to obtain passing status.

What is the technical portfolio?

Throughout the training programs, you'll be asked to develop working prototypes (projects) that demonstrate your ability to use engineering concepts correctly in an applied scenario. These projects will be added to your technical portfolio and can be used when applying for jobs or professional opportunities in your career.


What type of certificate will I receive?

Upon successful completion of the program, you will receive a Verified digital certificate from Learn Robotics. The Verified digital certificate can be shared with friends, family, schools, or potential employers. You can use it as a reference on any professional application, cover letter, resume, and/or display it on your LinkedIn profile. The Verified digital certificate will be sent approximately two weeks after the program, once grading is complete.


Can I get the hard copy of the certificate?

No, only Verified digital certificates will be issued upon successful completion. This allows you to share your credentials on social platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter.


Do I receive alumni status after completing this program?

No, there is no alumni status granted for this program. In some cases, there are credits that count toward a higher level of certification. This information will be clearly noted in the program brochure.


How long will I have access to the learning materials?

You will have access to the online learning platform and all the videos and program materials for 12 months following the program start date. Access to the learning platform is restricted to registered learners per the terms of agreement.

Technical Requirements

What equipment or technical requirements are there for this program?

Learners will need a laptop computer (Mac or Windows) with at least 1 USB port to complete the projects in this training. Tablets can be used to view training; however, to complete projects, a computer is required. Instructions for purchasing parts, materials, or lab kits will be provided upon enrollment into the program.

Learners will need the latest version of their preferred browser to access the learning platform. In addition, Microsoft Office and a PDF viewer are required to access documents, spreadsheets, presentations, PDF files, and transcripts.

Do I need to be online to access the program content?

Yes, the learning platform is accessed via the internet, and video content is not available for download. For maximum flexibility, you can access program content from a desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile device. Video lectures must be streamed via the internet, and any livestream office hours will require an internet connection. However, these sessions are always recorded, so you may view them later.
